I love how desire is seen as a guide to what the soul is silently saying. It's fascinating how our deepest desires can lead us to a better life. Amazing work! 🌟🌟
Thank you for the reminder that “the conflicting impulses of desire and aversion require skillful interpretation” as sometimes I notice I get lost in the little details and seeming problems to be solved (as do many of my clients) when feeling the feelings that are blocking us from Zooming out to see the bigger picture and patterns (which is definitely one of your super powers as a coach!) & the Rumi quotes are always such a nice addition as they seem to speak directly from his Soul to my Soul or perhaps give voice to the One Soul of Source.
Yes, interpretation is definitely tricky when you’re feeling emotional. It definitely helps to zoom out. Weaving together the wisdom of our intuition, reason and emotion allows us look at situations from multiple perspectives to deepen our understanding of both self and others.
One Soul of Source— I love that, and your poet’s soul, Marcelle!
Katie, I loved the entirety of this article. Every last word spoke to me, but I was especially drawn to one metaphor you used:
You likened our conflicting desires and aversions to “conflicting communiques from unexplored territory.”
Those words reminded me of the disc-shaped radio antennas that scan the sky for possible signals from intelligent extraterrestrial life. We have The Very Large Array here in NM. Those signals must be a challenge to decipher, but it’s equally as hard to figure out the signals coming from the ‘unexplored territory’ of our inner souls.
Thanks for this illuminating article and for the helpful template for how to attempt to navigate this treacherous inner terrain.
You’re very welcome. Sometimes that treacherous terrain is buried so deeply that we lose access. Getting in touch with our desires and aversions is like the “scanner” that detects and dissolves the obstacles that separate us from our most authentic self. 💕
Oh, I just love this post, Katie! Trusting the Universe and finding Grace in it. Soon it becomes Wisdom (hopefully.) I always hit a wall of inertia in spring - maybe it's that Taurus energy - and it's always good to read reminder posts like yours. So, thank you! 🩷

Barbara, thank YOU! Glad the reminder was timely for you. Even inertia as part of the ebb and flow of life...everything belongs.
Exactly! And I know that BUT…😂
