Wow. So profound and beautifully said! When Things Fall Apart changed me. Pema Chodron’s Buddhist perspective on suffering is just so CLEAN. Things DO seem to fall apart, but there’s a always greater integration for us to expand into. Thank you. Namaste, Rocket!🙏

Hey Katie, I just came a cross this quote from Pema Chodron which supports that quote about honesty beginning with truly understanding ourselves and our own needs. Pema says:

"The most fundamental aggression to ourselves, the most fundamental harm we can do to ourselves, is to remain ignorant by not having the courage and the respect to look at ourselves honestly and gently.". ― Pema Chödrön, When Things Fall Apart: Heart Advice for Difficult Times.

"... behind all those messages we've allowed ourselves to be intimidated by are just individuals with unmet needs appealing to us to contribute to their well-being". ~ Marshall B. Rosenberg

When I read this quote by Rosenberg it reminded me of another one I had come across quite a while back, "Be patient with one another for we are all laboring under (with) similar disabilities." That always stuck with me because it immediately brings forth that feeling of empathy that you talk about. I only wish it would come to me at the moment right before I'm about to say something I'll later regret. Thanks for the tips, Katie.
