Holy shit! Katie. The girl in blue at the beginning of this article isn't the only "thing" getting ready for take-off. You're stirring up all kinds of good juju here, inspiring others who then respond and add their own (thank you, Tereza) inspiring and stimulating juju to the conversation. Wow! I'll bet you weren't expecting this. I think we all better hold on to our hats!
And BTW, Judy (from CP) said that this article really spoke to her today, too!! Just sayin'.
So many synchronicities, Katie! I linked your last article and swiped the meme for something I'd been working on. But the voices of my inner critics were creating so much clamor I was getting a headache. Of course, they were somewhat amplified by some online critics writing that I was a fool, had a mind virus, and was a stage four syphilitic cunt. (My friend thought the stage four particularly amusing. Not even stage two?)
So I decided to pause that article, which will add to the controversy, and post about my year of discernment while studying to become an oblate to a hermitage 20 yrs ago. I think you'll enjoy it and it definitely grounded me and got those inner critics to pipe down!
Tereza, this is getting spooky. You tried to become an oblate?? I tried to become a nun at St. Mary's in South Bend back in 1967, but was "kindly" shown the door after a year for not being compliant enough. I haven't finished reading all those 78 habits yet but I will. You are something else all right. Hey, maybe you should start your own "hermitage", lol. Ever think of that? Let me answer that, "Of course, you did!"
When I was young I wanted to be an altar boy, when I was in HS, I wanted to be a priest. I did succeed at becoming an oblate, but the rules are much looser. Having three kids already, it's a good thing they don't require much!
Of course, Ronnie, with your 'Notions of the Sacred,' you'd be a feisty nun. My namesake, Tereza of Avila, was fierce and cunning, independent even during the inquisition. My parents thought they'd named me after the wimpy Little Flower, but they forgot the h. So there's a real precedent.
Wow! You have some creative cussers for external critics! I think that is a very good sign that you are inspiring people.🤣 Good for you! I look forward to reading about your discernment process. Thanks for sharing!!

Yes!!
Preparing for takeoff!
"Face Everything And Rise." Where has this gem hidden all my life? Xox
